Carl Herlick has been with Dovebid Valuation Service (DVS) and the Dove Organization for over 11 years. Having been in the service industry for so many years, I understand the challenge to complete customer satisfaction, and enjoy working towards that end. Prior to DVS, Carl ran Dovetech, the technology appraisal specialists for the Dove Brothers. In an earlier role Carl was President of Lenore Linens, Inc., one of the finest specialty shops in his native San Francisco where he also attended San Francisco State and Golden Gate University.

As Managing Director of Sales and Marketing, Jay Henry aids clients in pre-engagement planning of valuation issues and specializes in establishing and maintaining client relationships with financial institutions, equity sponsors and corporations. He aids in developing strategies for resolving value-based issues, helps implement analyses, and facilitates report preparation and review. Mr. Henry applies his experience and knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, strategic planning, real estate and transaction-related opinion letters over various sectors across the economy. With over 20 experience, Jay draws upon a background from Investment Banking, Corporate Management and Sales from Bee Line Corporation, Valuation Research Inc., Dresner Investment Banking and for the past 4 years at Dovebid Valuation Services currently acting as Managing Director. Jay Henry has assisted clients such as Zenith, Borden Chemical, Pabst Brewery, Florsheim, KPMG, Deutsche Banc, La Salle, JP Morgan, RR Donnelley among others. Mr. Henry holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Business.

Jim Brodie has more than 20 years of experience managing machinery & equipment valuation projects. Mr. Brodie began his career with Norman Levy Associates in 1983 working his way to Director and Managing their San Francisco office. Jim has been a member of DoveBid since 2000 when DoveBid purchased Norman Levy Associates. Mr. Brodie has experience in valuing over 50 asset categories in the machinery and equipment arena. Jim is a Certified Equipment Appraiser with the Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers (AMEA), a member in good standing of the Machinery Dealers National Association (MDNA) and a member in good standing of he International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO). Mr. Brodie has successfully completed the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) course and is a candidate member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA).

 
 
Jeff Miller

Mr. Miller has more than 11 years of experience managing machinery & equipment valuation projects. He has been involved in and managed tangible asset valuations throughout the world, including many Global 4000, prominent financial institutions with global operations, law firms and private equity firms. Tangible asset valuation projects have included machinery and equipment analyses for financing and secured lending transactions, sale/leaseback transactions, loan and lease portfolio acquisitions, valuations for financial and tax reporting including purchase price allocations for mergers and acquisitions, due diligence support; property tax appeals; fresh start accounting, goodwill testing, and impairment studies for long-lived assets. He held various positions within the auction division of Norman Levy Associates (NLA) before becoming a full time appraiser in 1995. Following the acquisition of NLA by Dovebid in 2000, Jeff was promoted to Manager to help oversee large multi-location appraisal assignments. In 2003, Jeff was named Senior Manager and is actively involved in establishing new business for Dovebid Valuation Services. Jeff earned his degree in finance and economics from Central Michigan University. He holds an Accredited Senior Appraiser designation from the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). Jeff also holds a Certified Equipment Appraiser designation from the Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers (AMEA) and is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA).

 
 
John Matthies

John Matthies had more that 15 years of experience appraising machinery and equipment. Mr. Matthies began his career with Spectrum Valuations (Chicago) and worked as a sub-contractor for Price Waterhouse, KPMG, MB Valuations and National Consulting among several other firms predominately in the asset based lending arena. Johns background, while predominately high-tech oriented, encompasses a diverse nature of industries from nuclear fuels processing plants to slaughterhouses, and state of the art television broadcast & post production equipment to distribution warehouses. Assignments have been for cost segregation and depreciation, insurable values, property tax, residual forecast analysis and end of lease negotiations and liquidations. Mr. Matthies has done appraisals in over 40 States throughout North America, and Internationally in Mexico, Japan, Canada and Singapore. He is an active member of the Chicago Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). As part of the ASA, John has served over 10 years as Newsletter Editor, has been a member of numerous Committees of MTS International and has served on the ASA Board of Examiners.

Since joining DoveBid Mr. Sorgel has conducted hundreds of machinery and equipment appraisals within a broad range of industries. Mr. Sorgels responsibilities at DoveBid include appraisal planning, active engagement in machinery and equipment field inspections, and management of appraisal assignments throughout the appraisal process to conclusion. Before joining DoveBid in 2002, Mr. Sorgel was with Winternitz, Inc as a senior machinery and equipment appraiser for 10 years. Mr. Sorgel has also been with Manufacturers Appraisal Company, Price Waterhouse, Valtec, Inc., and Lloyd Thomas as a machinery and equipment appraiser. Mr. Sorgel has a combined 25 years of machinery and equipment appraisal experience. Mr. Sorgel has conducted hundreds of appraisals within a broad range of industries. Mr. Sorgels primary expertise is in metalworking and metal fabrication plants, CNC machine shops, plastic injection molding and related plastics plants. In addition, Mr. Sorgel has experience in printing, packaging, paper converting, woodworking, food processing, chemical processing, construction, trucking, printed circuit board assembly, electronic assembly/test and measurement, and laboratory equipment. Mr. Sorgel is responsible for leading fixed asset valuation projects for many prominent financial institutions, accounting firms, law firms and private equity firms. Valuation projects have included machinery and equipment analyses for financing and secured lending transactions, purchase price allocation for mergers and acquisitions, sale/leaseback transactions, insurance reporting, and for numerous internal management considerations. Mr. Sorgel has a B.S. Administrative Science, Southern Illinois University. Mr. Sorgel is an accredited senior appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers and a certified equipment appraiser (CEA) with the Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers.

 
 
Ray Riberdy

Ray Riberdy has over 30 years of experience in the machinery and equipment industries. Mr. Riberdy has over 18 years of experience as a machinery dealer as President & CEO of Access Machinery Sales, Inc. and General Manager of Massey Machinery Sales, Inc. Ray began his career with Norman Levy Associates in 1999 and has been a member of DoveBid since 2000 when DoveBid purchased Norman Levy Associates. Ray was given the title of Corporate Machine Tool Vertical Manager and Account Executive within DoveBid. Mr. Riberdy was promoted to a DVS Manager in 2004. Ray manages appraisal projects in a variety of industries specializing in metalworking and machine tools. Valuation projects have included machinery and equipment analyses for financing and secured lending transactions, purchase price allocation for mergers and acquisitions, sale/leaseback transactions, insurance reporting, and for numerous internal management considerations. Ray has attended Wilbur Wright Vocational School and Schoolcraft Community College. Ray also has general machinist, tool & die, quality assurance and production control experience.

 
 
Richard Wiorek

Mr. Wiorek is a Senior Manager for DoveBid Valuation Services. He has been a member of the DoveBid team since 2001. His responsibilities include managing the operations of the machinery and equipment division for the Riverwoods, Illinois office of DoveBid. Mr. Wiorek has over 16 years experience in the valuation of machinery and equipment. He has appraised equipment in various industries including: metalworking, printing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, packaging, converting, electronics, as well as various specialty industries. Prior to joining DoveBid, Mr. Wiorek was an Appraiser for Philip Pollack & Company from 1988 to 1998. Starting out working all aspects of Auction sales start to finish, and eventually working full time in the appraisal division. From 1998 to 2001 Mr. Wiorek was a Senior Appraiser and a member of the sales staff for Adams Machinery Company in Chicago, involved in all aspects of the used machinery business, including appraisals. Mr. Wiorek is a Certified Equipment Appraiser (CEA) with the Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers (AMEA), and is a Candidate Member of The American Society of Appraisers (ASA).

Michael Goldstein has 13 years of experience in the appraisal and liquidation of inventories. Mr. Goldstein is responsible for managing the Inventory Valuation Practice of DVS. He has managed inventory appraisals for clients throughout North America and Europe including many of the prominent financial institutions. Mr. Keane has managed inventory valuations for clients throughout North America, including many of the prominent financial institutions. Salvatore Somma, ASA has 15 years of experience in the appraisal and liquidation of inventories. Mr. Somma, based in Atlanta, Georgia, has managerial responsibilities within the Inventory Valuation Practice of DoveBid. He has managed and performed inventory appraisals for clients throughout North America and Europe, including many of the worlds leading financial institutions. Inventory appraisal projects have included, but are not limited to: textiles, plastics, metals, construction/building products, chemicals, electronics, electronics - high tech, wood/lumber, medical products and equipment, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, furniture, telecommunications, plumbing supplies, retail inventories, vending route valuations/inventories, tobacco, and wire & cable. Prior to joining DoveBid in 2001, Mr. Somma was an Appraiser and Senior Analyst with Fleet Capital Corporation and its predecessor company, Barclays Business Credit. Mr. Somma earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting & Finance from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Mr. Somma also holds the designation of Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers.

 
 
Terry Paddack

Mr. Paddack joined DoveBid in 2004 as a Manager and is based in Melville, New York. Terry is responsible for helping to oversee the machinery and equipment appraisal operations. Mr. Paddack has been in the appraisal industry of over 19 years and his appraisal experience includes plastics, high technology, transportation, chemical processing, metal tools, woodworking, food processing, as well as many others. Before joining DoveBid, Mr. Paddack was employed with Daley-Hodkin Group where he worked in the Machinery and Equipment appraisal division for 16 years. In 1985 Mr. Paddack began his appraisal career in residential and commercial real estate and worked as an independent appraiser. Mr. Paddack holds a Bachelors degree from California State University at Northridge and is a Candidate Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA).
