The appointments of Jeff Crowe as president and chief operating officer, Francis Juliano as chief technology officer and vice president of e-commerce, and Steven Pollock as vice president of marketing, round out a seasoned team with a common goal — guiding DoveBid to undisputed market leadership in online as well as on-site B2B auctions. Working closely with Ross Dove, Jeff Crowe is responsible for the strategy, business results, and operations of DoveBid, and is a member of the board of directors. Most recently, Crowe was co-founder, president, CEO and board member of Edify Corporation, a software and services company focused on Internet and voice e-commerce. While at Edify, he saw the company through its initial public offering on NASDAQ in 1996 as well as its acquisition by S1 (NASDAQ: SONE) Corporation in November 1999. Prior to Edify, he held multiple marketing and general management roles at ROLM Corporation. Crowe received his MBA from Stanford University, and a BA degree from Dartmouth College. Francis Juliano is responsible for building the new product development organization and integrating technology systems across every department at DoveBid. Previously, Juliano was the director of global e-commerce (technology and product development) for Office Depot Online (NASDAQ: ODP), where he was responsible for building the integration between OfficeDepot.com’s front-end and state-of-the-art back-end fulfillment. He kept the site in the forefront of e-commerce and e-retailing by developing such features as the ever-present shopping cart, making continuous improvements to the search function and other features. Prior to Office Depot Online, he held advanced technology positions at Scholastic New Media and Sony Electronic Publishing. At DoveBid, Steven Pollock oversees all corporate and industry-specific marketing efforts for the corporation. Before joining DoveBid, Pollock was vice president of worldwide marketing at Edify Corporation. Prior to Edify, he was executive vice president of product marketing and operations for Portera Systems, a leading application service provider for the consulting services industry. Previously, Pollock was vice president of worldwide marketing at Claris Corporation, and held various marketing positions at Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) and Apple Computer (NASDAQ: AAPL). He earned an MBA from Stanford University, and a BS degree from San Jose State University. These executive team additions follow the recent appointment of Cory Ravid as chief financial officer (CFO) to oversee all financial operations of the company. A seasoned financial executive, Ravid brings a wealth of operating, accounting, mergers/acquisitions, and legal experience to his position at DoveBid. He has served as chief financial officer of two global, branded companies: MacGregor Golf Co. and DuPont Flooring Systems. Most recently, Ravid was CFO and Partner at The Parkside Group, a private equity investment firm based in San Francisco. While at Parkside, he led the leveraged buyout of MacGregor Golf and assumed the role of CFO for its turnaround and restructuring. Previously, at DuPont, Ravid was CFO and general counsel as the company’s revenue grew from $45 million to $300 million. Earlier in his career, he was a senior auditor for KPMG Peat Marwick.
